luminary

Liquid Diet drops glitzy black & white clip for their single "Luminary."

Their album Double Life is out now.

Artist note on the music video:

According to director Aaron Cobbett, the video's neo-noir aesthetic "references 'The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight' by Dominatrix, Duran Duran's 'The Chauffeur,' and the opening sequence of David Bowie's The Hunger. With allusions to the Illuminati, the video concept was inspired by the glossy atmosphere and abstract lyrics of the track."

We were also inspired by Cindy Sherman's "Untitled Film Stills." Like Cindy’s work, there’s a vague sense you’ve seen this before, whether it’s Mildred Pierce, Double Indemnity, Warhol’s Factory and "Venus in Furs," or George Michael's "Father Figure." Vocalist Georgia Kate Haege’s styling evokes images of Clara Bow, Marlene Dietrich, and even Madonna, with nods toward everything from The Great Gatsby and 1930s Hollywood Glamour to Helmut Newton and Pulp Fiction.
